Hello!
Iniziamo col presentare qualcosa di Erlangen, ridente cittadina della Baviera di 100.000 abitanti.
Let's start with some information about Erlangen, a pleasant Bavarian city where live about 100.000 people.
Ho fatto un pò di foto in giro per Erlangen, qui ne pubblico qualcuna. La prima è del castello, oggi sede dell'Università di Erlangen.
I've taken some pictures around, here you can find some. The first one is the Castle.
Nella stessa piazza castello (Schlossplatz) si trova il monumento al fondatore dell'università, da cui l'università prende il nome (Friederich, da cui Friederich - Alexander University; Alexander invece è il nome di un altro mecenate dell'università che in tempi di ristrettezze economiche ha sganciato un bel pò di quattrini all'università).
In the same square you can find the monument of the university founder, Friederich. The other person mentioned in the university name, Alexander, is another rich man that gave some money to the university in a period of financial straits.
Dietro al castello si trova un grande giardino, curatissimo, a cui tengono molto: il giardino del castello (schlossgarten). Il giardino è recintato, e ogni sera viene chiuso alle 20; mezz'ora prima della chiusura passa un tizio con un campanaccio e caccia tutti fuori :-) (che simpa, questi tedeschi!).
Behind the castle you can also find a large garden, very well kept: the garden of the castle (schlossgarten). The garden is enclosed , and every evening it is closed at 8; half an hour before, a man makes the round of the park whith a bell, to make know the people which is inside that the garden is going to close.
Nella piazza del castello si fa anche il mercato, frequentato da pittoresche signore (simpaticamente visibili nella foto :-) ).
In the square of the castle also the market is made. The market is frequented by vivid people, that you can also see in the picture :-)
Erlangen è una città per lo più protestante, visto che è cresciuta molto appena dopo l'
editto che in Francia aveva reso lecita la sola confessione cattolica.
Erlangen is mainly a protestant city. It is grew larger after the hugonotten law, which did not allow the protestant to remain in France.
Così molti ugonotti si trasferirono a Erlangen, dietro la promessa che sarebbe stata costruita per loro una chiesa per il culto protestante.
So, many hugonotts moved to Erlangen, whith the promise that a church would be built for them.
La chiesa è visibile anche nel riflesso delle finestre degli edifici della strada principale dello shopping, Hauptstrasse.
The church is also visible reflected in the windows of the buildings in the main shopping road, Hauptstrasse.
La birra in Germania non manca mai; ogni paese qui ha il suo birrificio.
Vicino a casa c'è il birrificio Kitzmann, qui ritratto in tutto il suo splendore, con tanto di pianta rampicante che di questo periodo è rossa.
Here the beer never lucks; every town has its own brewery.
Near home there's the Kitzmann brewery, which now is surrounded by a beautiful plant, whith the leaves that in this period are red.
Naturalmente il mezzo di trasporto più usato qui è la bicicletta, e le piste ciclabili non mancano. Addirittura le macchine ti danno la precedenza! Negli incroci col semaforo ci sono anche le corsie per le biciclette, segnalate in rosso.
Clearly the most used mean of transport is the bycicle, and bike lanes are everywhere. In the crossings with traffic lights you can also find bike lanes painted whith red.
